so i’m finally in a position where i have time to work on a side project. a small, one-off 36-page story. it’s called GALLERIA, and it’s about a 20-something who opens her own clothes boutique. it’s a bit girly. there’s no monsters or robots or ghosts although maybe there is and they’re just really good at hiding. i figure i’m going to use my tumblr to keep track of my progress, i’ve set myself a soft deadline for the end of september. you know how these things go, i do a webcomic which people actually read now, i work full time and i also apparently have friends that i totally didn’t even have to pay for - so if i don’t keep watching what i’ve done and not done then a day goes by then a week then a month and then i’m like “man, i was supposed to draw that story, huh?”.
so anyway: these last three days i’ve:
- sketched out the characters
- rough drafted the whole plot
- written a synopsis of the first nine pages
- designed a layout of the shop on google sketchup
- done a colour image to keep me interested
let’s see what the next few days hold. i hope i don’t lose the momentum i have going here. SHOUT AT ME IF I DO
seriously marvel, this was the obvious choice for fear itself WHY DID THIS NOT HAPPEN
i would also have accepted a MODOK the mighty
ARTIST BLOCK I HATE YOU
sometimes to get over it i’ll create some kind of dumb-ass challenge. today’s was to come up with nine different pairs of ankle boots. this stemmed from me drawing a really crap, unrealistic pair of ankle boots on something a couple nights back.
if it was moon boots, i’d be sorted. man do i love drawing moon boots. almost as much as i love drawing rats.
thought i’d blitz this saturday morning taking part in warren ellis’ remake/remodel challenge over on whitechapel, looks like i’m early to it, for once!
he got a big golden noggin. i’m off to find some cheap rum and drink it in the garden
Drawin’ all night for me! (Taken with instagram)
